Healthy and Safe Food for the Future. A Technology Foresight Project in Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia.

The Final Conference of the project „Healthy and Safe Food for the Future – A Technology Foresight Project in Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia”, funded by the European Commission (EC) under the 6th. Framework Programme of the Directorate-General for Research, will be held on 27 January 2009, from 08:30 to 17:20 at the Tech Gate Vienna, Donaucity Strasse 1, Vienna, Austria.

On the basis of the project findings and recommendations, the conference is devoted to stimulate dialogue among the stakeholders in the food industry to launch measures towards promoting healthy and safe food for the future in the Central and Eastern European Countries (CEE).

The conference has two parts: the first one will provide an overview on the relevant issues regarding the food industry globally and in Europe; the second one will present and discuss the main results of the project such as: Socioeconomic Scenarios, Key Technologies’ assessment, Future Visions, Road Mapping and Policy Recommendations. The conference is an opportunity for the interested parties to evaluate the results and discuss concrete measures relevant for the future of the food industry in the region.

PARTICIPATION

The Conference will count with the following participants: policy makers, representatives of the EC, partners in the project, knowledge institutions on food industry, experts and representatives from the different stakeholders groups such as industry, research institutions, academia and consumer associations.
