Geometric Reconstruction and Visual Recognition

Symposium on Combined Geometric Reconstruction and Visual Recognition

An essential and challenging problem in Computer Vision is the ability to infer the geometric structure and the semantic meaning of scenes and objects captured by one or more cameras. Several theories and algorithms have been proposed to accurately calibrate cameras and reconstruct scene and objects in an automatic way from still images and video. Recent studies have pointed out the importance of combining geometric camera, scene and object reconstruction with recognition tasks to significantly improve robustness, accuracy and reliability of each individual procedure.

The symposium will provide an overview of current research by top-level experts in the fields of geometric reconstruction and visual recognition. Participants from the academic and industrial research sector will be given the opportunity to learn about newest research trends and to contribute to an extensive discussion about potential cross-links.

The participation to the symposium is free of charge. You are kindly requested to register in advance for better planning; talks are in English.
